I spoke to a toy collector about this item and he stated that it is likely an fairly easy fix. When you put the batteries in it, the motor is working. It appears that the arms should move, but they are not moving.

The motorized gear box can be skillfully removed. It is located in a zippered compartment, behind his green shell. In closing, it is an excellent item that you may be able to repair. If not, you can keep him and enjoy him as it is a very cute Kaiju plush. CHECK out my Other Auctions!
